Data Investor Directory: Silver Access
Explore 18,000+ investor profiles and a curated Silver view of 688 organizations selected for their likely appetite for buying data
The Data Investor Directory gives Silver subscribers access to two complementary investor universes:
- more than 18,000 investor profiles through the Amass interactive research interface
- a curated Silver Airtable view of 688 investment managers that Amass Insights considers more likely to be relevant potential buyers of external data
The broader interface is designed for market discovery, enabling subscribers to search across a wide range of hedge funds, private-equity firms, banks, allocators, funds of funds, proprietary trading firms, pensions, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and other investment organizations.
The curated Silver view is narrower by design. Its 688 profiles were selected based on Amass Insights’ confidence in each organization's relevance to the institutional data-buying market, drawing on public or permissioned evidence, organizational characteristics, market activity, and our extensive industry research.
Inclusion does not confirm that every organization is currently buying data, evaluating new vendors, or inviting outreach from data providers. The directory is designed to make the institutional data-buyer market easier to search, segment, and understand, but not to function as an indiscriminate prospecting list.
Directory Snapshot
Broad Investor Universe
The Amass interactive research interface contains more than 18,000 investor profiles, which can be useful for:
- discovering organizations across the global asset management industry
- searching less familiar investor types and niches
- exploring adjacent or emerging data buyer segments
- conducting broad market-mapping research
- identifying organizations that may warrant further qualification
Coverage and verification depth vary across this broader universe.
Curated Silver Data Buyer Universe
The embedded Airtable view below contains 688 selected organizations that we consider more likely to be relevant potential buyers of external data, featuring:
- 432 hedge funds
- 96 private-equity firms
- 40 banks
- 27 funds of funds
- 25 proprietary trading firms
- 11 commodity trading advisors (CTAs)
- additional venture, pension, sovereign, insurance, family-office, and other institutional investment managers
This curated view is not intended to represent every possible data buyer. It is a more focused starting universe based on current evidence, organizational fit, and Amass Insights’ confidence in each organization’s relevance to the data market.
Fields Included
Depending on the organization and available source coverage, records may include:
- fund name
- website
- investment-manager type and subtype
- research style
- investment strategies
- asset classes
- headquarters
- geographical focus
- public AUM or scale range
- public organizational description
- current chief executive, where available
- public organization-level contact details
- number of identified and profiled professionals employed by each fund
- DMN participation status
- record-creation and last-modified dates
Coverage varies by organization and field. Some profiles include detailed strategy and research classifications, while others are retained for broader market coverage and require additional review.
Selected intelligence, such as data-buying activity, category needs, likely workflows, organizational maturity, hiring signals, and recent verification, may be available through other Amass resources or scoped engagements.
How to Use the Directory
The directory is most useful for:
- segmenting the investor market by organization type
- comparing research styles and investment strategies
- identifying relevant asset-class or geographic cohorts
- building an initial market map
- preparing for a data sourcing or monetization discussion
- narrowing a broader universe before requesting deeper analysis
It is less useful when treated as a flat outreach list. For provider-side business development, combine organization fit with product relevance, timing, buyer workflow, and a credible reason to engage.

Start by browsing the well-known hedge fund data buyers.
The Index highlights a defined subset of hedge funds showing visible evidence of institutional data-sourcing and usage capabilities. It is substantially narrower than both the curated Silver view and the broader interactive research interface.
Silver Directory Access
Silver subscribers can access and use the directory in three ways:
1. AmassInsights.com
Search and segment across more than 18,000 investment manager profiles and explore the intersection of institutional investing and external data through the Amass interactive research interface.
Not every organization in the interface has been classified as a likely data buyer. The broader universe is intentionally inclusive so that subscribers can conduct their own discovery and qualification.
Your AmassInsights.com directory login is separate from your login here.

2. Curated Silver Airtable View
Use the embedded Airtable view below to work with a more focused universe of 688 organizations selected for their likely relevance as potential institutional data buyers. This is designed for fast filtering, sorting, comparison, segmentation, and initial buyer-market analysis.
This view is a higher-confidence editorial selection from the broader investor universe. It is not a complete export of Amass Insights' internal research, relationship context, or opportunity intelligence.
